What is smart agriculture? What does smart farm look like? What kind of chemical reaction will happen when the number meets the farm?

On September 5, Yu Yilei, director of the Green Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Experimental Center of the Xiong’an Innovation Research Institute (Preparatory) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, shared things about the smart farm in the XR news interview room of the 2023 China International Digital Economy Expo.

Yu Yilei said that smart agriculture is a new agricultural model, which mainly obtains the agrometeorology, crop physiological status, soil moisture and water environment in the farmland by arranging various sensors, and guides agricultural production through big data, wireless transmission technology and artificial intelligence related decisions.

At present, Yu Yilei's team has cooperated with Xiong'an New Area to establish an unmanned farm demonstration area, which has realized the operation of unmanned farms in farming, sowing, planting and harvesting. “At the same time, we are further improving and it will be a typical smart farm in Xiong'an New Area in the future.”

Next, Yu Yilei and his team will establish a technology test site and demonstration base of key technologies in Xiong'an New Area. After the technology is mature, they will push to the north of China, especially the whole North China and Northeast China.
